The annual Glastonbury Festival is not a long way from where I live.
This year I didn't go, mostly because the boss didn't have any spare tickets and because I thought it would rain again and become a muddy swamp.
As it happened it was a beautiful weekend and no mud - typical - over 100,000 people and very little trouble, the police arrested just 151 people over the three days
I went and watched over the wall for a while, played 'drunk or stoned' watching people stagger by, but it wasn't the same as being inside so I gave up after an hour or so
Matt, my friend, disappeared inside a gate being used by police cars 'only' on Friday evening - he emerged today (Monday) a little smelly and with an assortment of dented but full beer and cider cans, a cell phone without a battery, a battery without a cell phone and a length of black microphone cable.
He is fast asleep on my bedroom floor as I type this, I wonder if he can remember what he did or where he slept for the past weekend. He also borrowed my wellies which I can't see anywhere .... hmmmmmmm
I just read noirhausmusic's journal and he has raised such a good point.
If someone can be 'legally dead' it must mean you can also be illegally dead. If it is illegal, it must be a crime ... but how do you prosecute a corpse ?
I have just helped someone out on an acolyte question and it got me to thinking really deep ....
I got my lifetime membership as a Christmas present and as a reward for not having a panic attack in a crisis.
I had saved up for my original premium membership because I enjoy my time in House Eternal so much I wanted to give something back.
I have now spend 82.29 days surfing, chatting and working on this site. Yup, I have changed the way I do things and enjoy different parts than when I first started, but things haven't really changed for me
I meet awesome people here on VR and some real weird people, I can do this from the safety of my room and with the protection of an 'off' button
I used to have some real problems coping with stress, I have been panic free for well over a year and I can now see how stupid it was to react the way that I used to - even my step dad has thought that it was being able to deal with stuff on VR at my own pace and being in e-control of what is happening
I look back on my first journal entry
Its not unusual for serious fish pond people to have electric fences around their ponds to stop herons and cats eating their fish. If you pay the boss, we even install them, they really are simple to do - they give a small and harmless jolt and the animal learns not to go near nasty water
Most of these things, for fish ponds, run on 2 D cells - no problem
Today I was helping out with an urgent gloop job where a guy came back from holiday to find his auto feeder had gone nuts, half his fishies were dead (fat, happy but dead) and the pond was serious glooped.
I was kneeling on a small rockery when I touched his fence. It actually crackled and got a shock that could stun a small rhino on smack.
I tracked his fence wires back to a charger that had a little blue cylinder stuck to the outside and two little metal tails going into the outlet hole, this was no factory fitting, I then went all the way along to 240 v mains plug and a transformer !!!
I told boss and boss told man, man said (really rudely) it was none of our business
He's gonna have a bunch of problems with that fence, mostly because I have put his filter box on top of the fence wire :D
Сьогодні, я думаю, - день мої батьки померли. Речі є зараз так добре для мене але це сталося лише тому що вони померли. Я відчуваю себе дуже повинним :(
Step sister is doing a secretarial skills course, week three of five dontchaknow. The effect is my mail is now very business-like and I can type with two fingers AND a thumb hehehe
The weather in the UK has been all bright and sunny, that is great unless your job is sucking gloop out of ponds. Bright sunlight helps the gloop gloopify and the heat makes the fish eat and poo more, which feeds the gloop. The machines that we use can cope with just about anything but the strainers and filters need changing all the time, its a pain
I went past the garage where I used to wash cars, its now a bunch of houses! I really should go that way more often.
Went to a guys pond where all his fish were at the surface struggling to breathe and throwing themselves out of the pond. Now when fish would rather be on the lawn or frying in the sunshine than underwater there has got to be something wrong with the water eh. While the boss was talking money with the guy, I started sucking the water out and dumping fresh water in as quick as I could - I just dribbled a load of chlorine remover in the water as it went in, not how we usually do it but eh
The fish loved it and soon started to swim about like errrrr fishies - happy fishies. I did a bunch of water correction. Saw the boss, when the work was all done, with a handful of money ... the guy uses the water from his pond for his roses, that's probably good for the roses and it cuts his water use down. Problem was that he watered his his roses with some kind of bug killer, then put the watering can in the pond to top it up .... nut
I am hunting down a pinhole camera on eBay so I can share birdcam with all y'all !!!
Exams are all but over. Think I did OK, we do them a year early and have like a second go next year while we get a head start on our A levels - we're no allowed to take them early but we get the extra year to make sure of the grades - s'good.
I had paused rating profiles while my exams were on, something had to stop - I think I will have to play catch up pretty soon - ugh
Think that's you all up to date now, reader. have a great day :D

She'll have you doing everything in triplicate soon :)
Those fishes must really love to see you coming lol
Birdcam would get great! :)
Can't wait for the bird-cam!
You are are hero to the pond fish of the UK!
It has just taken four of us, two trips to google and one to wikipedia, to make a short reply to a single post in Stabb's journal .... man that is one deep subject, I simply have to dig into that one
So I phone Carly on Thursday to ask if she wants to go out somewhere, she says she's ill and been throwing up - I say I hope she gets better and I would leave her to get better
On Friday morning I call again to ask how she is, she says she's not a lot better, still feeling sick and not had a good night - I say I hope she gets better and leave her to get better
I call again on Friday evening, she's a little better, not throwing up in fact feeling hungry but feeling all washed out - I say its good she's not throwing up no more and I hope she has a good night
Today I go to work and we have a job about a mile from Carly's house. In my lunch hour I walk into the local town and buy her a giant choc chip cookie, then I walk all the way to her house
When I get there, her mum is really surprised to see me, she thought I was with Carly and her friends who has been at Amy's house since Wednesday ...
pffffffffft

Yeesh, that sucks.
Oooh!
You did eat that chocolate cookie yourself, right? ;)
:(
aw hope the cookie was really really good and you ate it all
The girl is .... dumb. You to nice to be treated that way Art. :( Wish I could smear the cookie in her face.
Taking two certain facts;
1. Cats always land on their feet, and
2. Toast always lands, butter side down
So ... if you tape a slice of buttered toast onto a cat's back, and dropped it, would it ever land ?

You're on to something. You can save lives with this kind of thought process.
Hmmm... it going to bother me all day now. :)
Ahhh damn
The cat clawed and bit me then ran away and hid under the china cabinet eating buttered toast before I could confirm or reject your hypothesis.
Perhaps the cat would land on it's side???

Wellington Boots, named after the Duke of Wellington ... I think they're called Gum Boots in the USA
